查了字典,也看了几篇网上的文章,还是没整理出头绪。
维基百科上说legislation是statutory law,看完更不明白了。
我目前的理解是:
legislation当作法律讲和law可以替换使用,但这个词还有立法的意思。
网上有人说,legislation比law更正式,这里我很怀疑,这样理解对吗?
Law就是表示法律,也可以当动词。
Statute应该是法令,规模比law小,对不?
(1) legislation 立法,制定法律; 法律,法规;(英文解释: Legislation consists of a law or laws passed by a government; a law or a set of laws passed by a parliament )
New legislation on the sale of drugs will be introduced next year.有关药物销售的新法规将于明年出台。
Legislation will be difficult and will take time.立法既费力又耗时。
备注:legislation主要指包括“经政府或者国会通过的一套或多套法律”。
(2)law n.法律; 法制;法规(体系)(英文解释:the law is a system of rules that a society or government develops in order to deal with crime, business agreements, and social relationships. You can also use the law to refer to the people who work in this system.)
Obscene and threatening phone calls are against the law.猥亵和恐吓电话都是违法的。
If they entered the building they would be breaking the law .如果进入那栋大楼,他们就会触犯法律。
In Sweden it is against the law to hit a child.在瑞典打小孩是违法的。
Defense attorneys can use any means within the law to get their client off.辩护律师可在法律许可的范围内利用任何手段为当事人作无罪辩护。

备注:law主要指社会或者政府制定的用来处理犯罪, 商业协议,以及社会关系的一套规则体系。
(3) statute n.成文法;法令;法规(英文解释:A statute is a rule or law which has been made by a government or other organization and formally written down.)
The new statute covers the care for, bringing up and protection of children.新法令涵盖了儿童保育、养育和保护的相关内容。
The independence of the judiciary in France is guaranteed by statute. 法国司法部门的独立地位是法律明文规定的。
Penalties are laid down in the statute. 法规中有关于惩罚措施的规定。
Corporal punishment was banned by statute in 1987.1987年通过的法令明文禁止体罚。
备注:statute 主要是指由政府或者其他组织制定并以书面形式写好的一套规则。
