网友首先要注意搭配 see…as（把……看作或视为），这里的 as 后面可接名词、代词或动名词，有时也接形容词（可理解为其前省略了动名词being）：

=It was a mistake to see the arts as (being) unnecessary.

认为艺术没有必要的看法是错误的。（句首的 it 为形式主语，其后的不定式为真实主语）
