2 单词estimated的使用
看一篇讲述金融科技无现金支付文章里一句话， Today，an estimated 96% of households in kenya use M-Pesa，字幕意思据估计96%肯尼亚家庭使用安排m-pesa账户。
我看这句话中过去分词estimated的位置，应该是把它当作形容词使用。可我感觉无论estimated是修饰96%，还是修饰households，这种表达都很别扭，成了“估计的96%数字的肯尼亚家庭…”。不如写成It 's estimated that 96% of households in Kenya…，我觉得更通畅。

这里，estimated 是个强调形容词，用在数词之前作定语，强调这个数字的程度如何。尽管修饰的数词后面是复数名词，也要加不定冠词。网友说的It's estimated that 96% of households in Kenya…，是被动结构，用形式主语代替从句。是两个不同的结构。
形容词 mere, good, full, clear, cool，也是此用法。

原句中的estimated 是形容词，不要理解为过去分词。意思是"粗略计算出来的". 这种用法在英文报刊中很常见，你感觉别扭，可能是你看英文报刊不够多的缘故。它一般放在数字前面，当然是修饰数字了。你的改写也没错，It 's estimated that 96% of households in Kenya…这里estimated 是过去分词。这种用法更正式。常见的有roughly, approximately等。但这两个是副词，不能用形容词形式修饰数字，即不能说 a rough 10%. 要说 a roughly 10%.
