老师好！请教新目标八上教材中的一句话:

But I think friends are like books—you don't need a lot of them as long as they're good.请问老师，这里a lot of them 不能是“许多它们”吧？那这里是表示部分和整体关系, 类似one of...之类的吗？

网友理解正确，除此之外，还有一层细微的关系，需要弄清楚。我们做个比较：

1. a lot of books：a lot of 是数量限定词，books 是中心词，且泛指。意思：“许多书”。

2. a lot of the books：a lot 是数量代词，of the books 是定语。the books 应特指。意思：“那些书中的许多”。

3. a lot of them：a lot 是数量代词，of them 是定语。意思：“它们中的许多”。
