There are two buildings, ___ stands nearly a hundred feet high.

A:the larger B:the larger of them C:the larger one that D:the larger of which

这个题目，我觉得C和D都可以；

C：先行词是the larger one，关系代词that代替先行词在从句中充当主语。

D：该句为非限制性定语从句，which指代two buildings，做介词of的宾语。

想问一下各位老师，C为什么错误？

你是依靠不完整的语法概念反过来指导英语造句，从语法角度，听上去有一定道理，但英语不这么用。只能选D。除非用独立主格结构。如：There are two buildings, the larger one standing nearly a hundred feet high.
