to be done (doing something): to have finished (doing something) 这是英语习语，为固定说法。

The free dictionary 解释：to be finished or have completed something.

字典例句：I hope you're done writing that paper because class starts in three minutes.

be done为习语，其中done被认为是形容词作表语。done=finished. 其实这是早期英语的一种残留形式。在英语发展的某个时期，英语的完成时态 have done和be done是通用的。例如 He is gone. = He has gone. 不过现在把He is gone. 分析为系表结构。be done doing sth= have finished doing sth. 意为做完某事，不再做某事。不可以改为have done doing sth.

例如： I try to put things in their place once I am done using them. = ... once I have finished using them.
