非限制性定语从句省略 which is OR 过去分词作原因状语，逻辑主语为Events?

非限制定语从句省略 who are OR 现在分词作伴随状语，逻辑主语是my friends?

1 既然没有which is 或 who are, 那就不是定语从句，而是过去分词短语。

2 位于句末并被逗号分隔的分词短语只能分析为状语，不能分析为定语。当分词短语插入主语和位于动词之间并被二个逗号分隔时时，则分词短语既可以分析为非限制性定语，也可以分析为状语。例如下面句子：

Events, staffed by thousands of volunteers, are free.
