In standard English, don’t use ‘us’ as the object of a sentence when we is the subject. Don’t say, for example , ‘ We bought us some drinks ’. You say ‘We bought ourselves some drinks’  

而在“Collins Cobuild English Usage第二版2004”的P495页也有同样的解释。你可以记住这种惯用法。

我的思考是：为什么要用反身代词ourselves，而不是用us？这个问题要从反身代词的用法来理解。

My husband and I love pets. We decided to buy (    ) a white dog.这句话很明显，填空的地方是间接宾语，即指My husband and I，就这俩人，用ourselves能使这个意义表达非常的明确，如果用us，us不一定就指这两个人，可能是还有第三个人。这样的解释基本能解决一些问题，但很多用法更多的是惯用法，只能记，比如：

I bought me a new hat. （新编高级英语语法P313） 

章振邦认为这种用me的用法用在美式口语中。但我个人觉得这种用法是相当口语化：

I bought me a new watch.（这是一个错句，引自Collins Common Errors in English）

在The Cambridge Grammar of the English Language的P1488页：

Again, the antecedent is subject, and the reflexive mandatory – except that in some
dialects, mainly US, an accusative is found in informal style as a variant of the reflexive.
This usage occurs predominantly with a 1st person pronoun: %I bought me a new car;
%Let’s get us a hamburger.

作者Huddleston认为“grammatical in some dialect(s) only“，所以用%标记，不是完全错误的，但不可取！
