句中多个介词复用的情形
used to describe a situation in which for a period of time a child lives with and is cared for by people who are not the child's parents.
这句话是韦氏高阶上对foster形容词性的释义，但是这句中的with、for、by把我看晕了。
按理说，lives with people就够了可是people前面多了一个by。
is cared by people who…很自然，可是句中却又多了个for。
然后lives with、is cared for、by people 三个加在一起混上加混。
请老师指点。

a child lives with (people) and is cared for by people.
1. 英语中有两种省略格式：承前省略和蒙后省略。括号里的 people 是蒙后省略。with 和 by 共享一个名词people
2. care for 跟 look at，listen to 等一些固定的短语一样，可以有被动语态，所以就出现了两个介词挨着的情况。又如：
The music is often listened to by her.
The mysterious picture was looked at by that boy.
Tom was not cared for by his mother.
