现在分词伴随状语是修饰主句还是从句的？

The circuit is set up by a special signaling message that finds its way through the network, seizing channel in the path as it proceeds.

seizing是现在分词短语作伴随状语，原文上说seizing是伴随finds的，从整句意思上说的通。我想问的是，单纯从语法上能否看出seizing是说明主句动词还是从句动词的，它给哪个动词作状语在语法角度有要求吗？

请老师指点一下。

seizing channel in the path as it proceeds，是现在分词短语，作结果状语最好，不宜看作伴随状语。它是看修饰定语从句的谓语动词的，是定语从句的一部分。因此，整个黑体部分是定语从句。因为 find 是一个终止性动词，一旦发生即结束，很难存在伴随的动作，而且seizing 也是终止性动词，是前文 finds its way through the network 产生的结果。这是现在分词表达自然而然的结果。
