英语句子分析

I'm glad I went to the doctor.

I'm glad是主系表结构，已经是一个完整的句子了，那么I went to the doctor在这个句子中是作什么成分？

I am glad(that) i went to the doctor.

对于I am adj. that .....这个句型，

章振邦的《新编英语语法》认为：语法学家们对此看法不一。

有人认为that从句是状语从句。如：

I’m glad you like it.

= I’m glad because you like it.

也有人认为是同位语从句。如：

I’m amazed that you should have arrived so early.

= I’m amazed at the fact that you should have arrived so early.

也有人认为是宾语从句。如：

I’m afraid that she can’t succeed in her plans.

=I fear that she can’t succeed in her plans.

至于我呢，我直接把"I am adj. that ....."当成一个固定句型记下来。

记住:先有语言，后有语法。

所以语法上有些地方是有模糊地带的，很正常。
