表示“……的敌人”，通常是用 the enemy of…。如：

He was marked as an enemy of the poor. 他被列为穷人的敌人。

Worst of all is to make an enemy of the Minister. 最坏的结果是与部长为敌。

Any friend of hers is an enemy of Eve’s. 任何一个她的朋友都是伊夫的敌人。

An old Arab proverb says, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” 有一句古老的阿拉伯谚语说：“我敌人的敌人是我的朋友。”

若用 to，则表示“对……说来是敌人”。如：
