怎么判断某一成分是否为插入语

本题考查的是插入语。题目解释为do you tell不做插入语，但为什么do you say可以做插入语，而do you tell不做呢？怎么判断某一词组做不做插入语呢？

这种问句为嵌入式特殊问句，疑问词在宾语从句中作成分。把主句分析为插入语是错误的分析。这种错误的分析的结果就导致把A这个正确的句子判为错误。这就是插入语分析的弊端所在。所以，这里根本就没有插入语。句子是否正确，取决于主句结构是否正确。我们把四个句子还原为陈述句，分别得到以下四个句子：

You say that the population of Beijing is 21.5 million. 正确

You think 100 people to stay here. to stay here不可以作think的宾补，所以错误。

You guess Tom is singing. 正确

You tell that is a car. tell 后接that从句作单宾语为错误。

所以，A，C 为正确。但插入语的分析误将A判为错句。出题人的水平有限，不了解嵌入式问句结构。
