我见过 Who is the…? 的问句，从未见过 Who is a…? 的问句。

你为什么会有这样的想法呢？这样的问句用定冠词或不定冠词都是可以的，它们的区别就是定冠词或不定冠词的基本区别（表特指与非特指）。比如下面一句没问题吧？
Einstein is a genius. 爱因斯坦是个天才。
假若对 Einstein 提问呢？你怎么说？是不是下面这样？
Who is a genius? 谁是天才？
再如：
Tom is a friend of hers.→Who is a friend of her?
Jim is a good student.→Who is a good student?
如果是特指，则用定冠词。如：
Who is the owner of this car? 谁是这车的主人？
Who is the proprietor of this shop? 谁是这家商店的老板？
Who is the man standing near the door? 站在门边的那个男人是谁？
