Every…and every…作主语时，强调其中的每一个个体，其谓语动词总是用单数。又如：
Every boy and every girl wants to go there. 每个男孩和女孩都想去那里。
Every hour and every minute is important. 每一小时，每一分钟都是宝贵的。
Every adult and every child was holding a flag. 成年人和孩子们每人都拿着一面旗子。
Every schoolroom and every office has a portrait or bust of the great man. 每间教室和每间办公室都有这位伟人的画像或半身雕像。
