当然，在必要的情况下这样用也是可能的。如：

We must decide if we will have a meeting and if so, when. They must decide if such a plan can be implemented and if so, when. 我们必须决定我们是否要开一个会，如果要开的话，什么时候开。

Did he come to help? And if not, why not? 他来帮忙了吗？如果没有，为什么没有？

网友觉得if not, not. 很有意思，很有韵味。我则觉得这纯属废话。预测性真实条件句本身就意味着，如果条件成立，主句的动作就发生，如果条件不成立，主句的动作就不发生。所以，根本没有必要说出if not, not. 这种省略本身就是多余的。例如，If I have enough money, I will buy a car. 这句话的意思已经清楚得不能再清楚了，还有必要说如果钱不够，就不买车了吗？
