whose, which作为关系限定词使用，究竟是什么区别，怎么理解含义

It stormed all day, during which time the ship broke up.

这里的which究竟指的是什么？本来应该是是all day's time, 所以，那么为什么不是during whose time呢？all day's = whose...呀？

同理，这句Call again at eleven, by which time the meeting should be over. 应该是by whose time? whose=eleven's time ? 这里的which指的什么呢？

如果说我的理解是错的，那为什么这句This is the pen whose point is broken. 不说成This is the pen which point is broken呢？

我的困惑在于whose, which作为关系限定词使用，究竟是什么区别？怎么理解含义呢？

你先看一下并列结构：

It stormed all day, and during that time the ship broke up. 指示代词that+time, 指stormed all day这段时间，作介词during的宾语。and连接并列句。现在我们把并列句改为主从复合句，只需去掉并列标记and, 用关系代词which替换指示代词that，在关系代词which作为从属标记，引导非限制性定语从句。

It stormed all day, during which time the ship broke up.

which作为关系限定词替换的指示限定词（this，that，these，those)，不能替换属格代词。而whose为属格限定词，替换属格代词，my, your, his, its, their等。

同理，第二句的并列结构如下：

Call again at eleven, and by that time the meeting should be over.

that为指示代词（指示限定词），去掉and改为关系分句时要用关系限定词which，而不能用属格限定词whose.
