记得以前刘老师讲过类似于第一句话的结构，十分感激！但是今天遇到第二句话又开始犯蒙了，搞不懂为什么这里多了个of，of是何含义，句子中的of a house是什么成分？

你的第二句中的介词 of 通常被认为是多余的，比如 Paul Brians 在 Common Errors in English Usage 就指出：“Of” is often shoved in where it doesn’t belong in phrases like “not that big of a deal,” and “not that great of a writer.” Just leave it out.

赞同根花老师的解答。我补充一句：这种adj+of+ a +noun 的用法目前在英美报刊上偶尔还可以看到，尤其是口语和方言里更多见，但被认为是不规范的英语。目前遗留下来类似的有a+noun+of a +noun 的用法，如：a fool of a husband. 这种用法虽然属于正确，但用的不是很普遍了。
