但是我们可以说the car's engine.

1. wheel 本身就是指“车轮”，指任何车辆的车轮。一般就不再加定语，无论是名词作定语还是所有格作定语，因此不说：a car wheel 或 the car's wheel。因为 the car's = the car's wheels，所以，也是不可以说的。

2. the car's engine 可以说。因为 engine 这个词汇意义不是车辆独有的，不加 the car's 则无法表示“汽车的发动机”。
