比较状语从句的省略

还原的话：than those of the Red Sox Nation are或者than the Red Sox Nation ones are，可以吗？

是。而且以省略those of为佳。只有当从属关系对读者/听者产生干扰时（干扰小，就是小干扰，干扰大，就是我们说的歧义），才不省略。

如

1. Dog brains produce more heat than those of humans.

2. Dog brains produce more heat than humans.

从逻辑上讲，读者/听者不会把than结构认为是produce humans，但是heat与humans这样的位置还是会读者思维产生干扰。因此我们用第1句，而视第2句为错误用法。
