Each week, for example,a record of the sales results of the preceding week for each sales office and for the Sales Department as a whole for each division of the company is kept and compared to the sales results for the corresponding week of the year before.

想请教各位老师，句中

for the Sales Department as a whole

the sales results for the corresponding week 为什么是用for 不是of？

for each sales office 和for the Sales Department as a whole 之所以用for,是因为这两个部门是修饰sales results的，但被the preceeding week隔开了，而这两个部门和 the preceeding week并无所属关系，所以不能用of,改用for.

the sales results for the corresponding week 这是因为corresponding +时间的结构习惯上介词多用for或in.如：for (in) the corresponding month. 但 of the previous /last month.
