搜索发现都是用复数，能否用单数？那为什么下面这句里的industry用了单数？

我记得，本站答疑专家王老师说过，both...and...连接的成分，必须对等。据此，both the Indian and Pacific Oceans 为不规范表达，似应改为：both the Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean
关于manufacturing and heavy industry，这是蒙后省略。实为 manufacturing industry and heavy industry，网友注意到了没有，谓语动词用 are，而不是 is。蒙后省略的词语，一定要翻译出来：制造业和重工业
