while可以接短暂动词

②前面的even是修饰后面的整个从句吗？

spoke并不是短暂动词，而是延续性动词，只不过延续的时间不是很长而已。while=during the time that。此外，这里用when也是可以的。但你没有理由质疑while的使用。even 强调while。
