这是一道专四真题，答案是 C。但是我有两个疑问想请教各位专家老师。第一个是如果用 gaily painted，那么表达的意思不是 paint 这个动作鲜亮吗？而这个句子的本意是说给墙面喷漆得鲜亮一些，我觉得这种表述应该不妥吧。然后我查了牛津字典，paint 有一个用法是 “动词 + 名词短语 + 形容词”，比如: The walls were painted yellow. 这个句子。所以如果我将它改成 They wanted their bedroom to be painted bright. 行吗？

还有一个问题就是有解析认为A 选项不可以是应为cheerfully 是修饰人的心情的，不能修饰物。但是我查了牛津字典，里面提到 cheerful 是可以修饰物的，意思是“令人愉快的”，所以如果我如果这样说 They wanted their bedroom to be painted cheerful. 又可以吗？

这是 want sth. done 结构。want 接复合宾语，过去分词作宾补。want 这种接复合宾语的用法，由于过去分词表被动，换成被动的不定式也可。

因为，want sth. done = want sth. to be done

所以， wanted their bedroom gaily painted = wanted their bedroom to be gaily painted

brightly 是副词，与gaily 同义，修饰 painted。
