find不定式作宾补
Of course I was disappointed when I heard the news about her. I had always found her life to be so inspiring.
在find sb/sth to be中好像可以省略不定式to be，但是为什么能省略to be呢？？如果是to do应该是不能省略的吧，比如We found her blood to contain poison。

find 后面可以接“宾语+宾语补足语”，其中的宾语补足语可以由名词、形容词、分词、副词、介词短语和动词不定式短语来充当。
《牛津英语用法指南》第四版10.4节指出：
在 find + 宾语后面，to be 可表示检验或调查的结果。试比较：
Everybody found her very pleasant. 人人都觉得她很讨人喜欢。
The doctors found her to be perfectly fit. 医生们发现她身体非常健康。
I found the bicycle very comfortable to ride. 我觉得这辆自行车骑着很舒服。
The testers found this bicycle to be the best value for money. 测试员发现这辆自行车最划算。

我认为We found her blood to contain poison不太对，至少罕见。find sb/sth to be 可以，to do 似乎没见过，但可以用于被动式。如：Her blood was found to contain poison. 陈老师的例句：We found the chest to contain many silver coins. 属于“有道”句或“百度”句，个人认为没有权威性。

find可以接以下几种宾补：
【1】find+宾语+形容词
We found him dishonest. 我们发觉他不诚实。
【2】find+宾语+介词短语
She woke up and found herself in a hospital bed. 她醒来发觉自己躺在医院的床上。
【3】find+宾语+to be
We found the restaurant to be full. 我们看到这家宾馆已经客满了。
【4】find+宾语+to do
We found the chest to contain many silver coins. 我们发现这柜子里有不少银币。
【5】find+宾语+现在分词
I found him working in his garden. 我发现他在花园里干活。
【6】find+宾语+过去分词
He found the boy tied to a tree. 他发现孩子被绑在一棵树上。
