比较级可以作表语吗

今天在书里看到“less 是不能作为表语”的说法，有些不理解。

书里说my money is less than yours.(错误）I have less money than you.(正确）

为什么less不能做表语呢，所有的比较级都不能作表语吗？请教各位老师！

比较级是可以作表语的。如：

I feel much better today than yesterday. 我今天比昨天觉得好多了。（《英汉多功能词典》新编升级版p.161）

My money is less than yours. 注意：句子开头单词的首字母必须大写。

这个句子错误的原因不是因为用了比较级，而是因为little这个单词不能作表语， less 是 little 的比较级，所以也不能作表语。

《牛津英语用法指南》第四版168.5节指出：“ (a) little 和 (a) few 是限定词，一般用在名词之前，不用在 be 之后。They had little hope. 他们没有多大希望。（但不能说：Their hope was little. ）”

My money is less than yours.并非语法错误，而是人们不习惯用这种表达而已，通常会说 I have less money than you do/have.

COCA语料库就有A is less than B的例句。例如：

Everybody knows that Warren Buffett feels awful because his marginal tax rate is less than his secretary's....

So long as the penalty is less than the profit, the problem continues.

可以找到很多这样的例句的。
