in that 本质上是介词in后接that引导的名词性从句，that是从属连词，在从句中不作成分，并不是关系代词或关系副词。in that通常合起来被分析为复合从属连词，引导原因状语从句。其实in that 从句是原因状语和方面状语的意义的结合。
