代词 that 和 the one 的区别

At the shop, they wanted to show me all the dresses, but I was interested only in the one in the window.

各位老师好，请问这里的the one为什么不可以用that呀？是因为介词后面不可以用that吗？

作为名词替代词，that只能替代前面提到过的特指名词（单数或不可数）。例如，The weather in Beijing is cooler than that in Shanghai. (that=the weather). 又如：The price of an electric car is higher than that of a petral car. (that=the price).

你的句子中，前面并没有特指名词可被that替代。所以用one替代dress, 再用特指限定词限定one. 你也可以说that one。但替代词仍然是one，that为指示限定词，而不再是替代词。
