the living与the dead的理解（指部分还是全体）
在书上可以查到的意思是：the living 表示“活着的人”；the dead 表示“死者”。请问：它们是指所有“活着的人”和“所有死者”，还是指“部分活着的人”和“部分死者”。
据我所说，the young, the old, the poor, the rich 等是指所有人的，即表示“所有年轻人”“所有老年人”“所有穷人”“所以富人”等。

根据语境的不同，“the+形容词”（表示名词）可用作复数表示群体，也可用作单数表示个体。
（1）the rich, the poor, the jobless, the unemployed, the deaf, the blind 等等，这些词常用作复数表示群体。比如：
The rich should help the poor.（the rich作复数表示群体）
The unemployed are losing hope. （the unemployed 做复数表群体）
The government should do something for the jobless. （the jobless 为复数表群体）
（2）the accused, the injured, the diseased 等等，这些词常用作为单数表示个体，例如：
