one...the other...句式中后面的句子没有动词

He has two nephews. One is a pilot, the other a taxi driver.

老师，这个例句中我看到 the other 后面没有谓语动词，是不是错了呀？还是说 the other 后面可以省略谓语动词呀？谢谢。

这里的the other 之后省略了与前句相同的系动词 is，以避免重复。又如：

My brother is a teacher and my sister (is) an actress.

为了避免重复，有时可以省略与前面相同的谓语动词。又如：

(1) Some of them come from America, others from Britain. 他们中有些人来自美国，其他的人来自英国。(others 后面省略与前面相同的谓语 come) （新版《中学英语语法》第526页，中国大百科全书出版社2002年7月第1版）

(2) She has two daughters. One is a primary school teacher, the other a musician. 她有两个女儿。一个是小学教师，另一个是音乐家。（《朗文高级英语应试词典》（英汉双解）p.1640）
