我个人觉得，"which ... childhood. " 这个句子本应该是一个非限定性关系分句，start不及物作which的谓语动词，然后嵌入了一个he remembers，但不知道是否还有别的分析方式或我的分析本就是不合适的，还请各位指教。

作者试图用一个嵌入式定语从句修饰his passion. 可是这里犯了一个语法错误，which不可以引导非限定关系分句。staring用现在分词为语法错误。改为started作谓语动词:

which he remembers started as early as his childhood.
