不定代词作主语，谓语动词要用单数。但是今天看到个定语从句，不知道对不对：
Graduation gifts don't necessarily mean something that are nicely packaged.
请问老师，something作定语从句的先行词，定语从句的谓语用 单数，还是取决于something本身的含义？

Graduation gifts don't necessarily mean something that are nicely packaged.
that are nicely packaged 的先行词是 Graduation gifts，而不是 something。正常结构为：
Graduation gifts that are nicely packaged don't necessarily mean something. 这是语义决定的。是指毕业纪念品被精美包装。
这是定语从句与先行词被分隔所致。又如：
All are not friends that speak us fair.
He laughs best who laughs last.
