beloved 这个词的来历很有意思。
这是一个形容词。意为“是别人喜欢的；是别人之爱”，由 love 的被动式演变而来。即：be loved by
如：He is loved by children. （他被儿童喜爱。）
被动语态 be loved， 现在合成为一个形容词： beloved，就不再用 be beloved by ，而改头换面为：be beloved
of sb. 这里 beloved 带有名词的含义。意思是“是某人之爱”。
如：He is beloved of children.（ 他是儿童之爱。=儿童都喜欢他。）

The little boy was beloved of all the teachers.
由原来的被动语态（这个男孩被所有老师喜欢。）变成：
这个男孩是所有老师之爱。=老师都喜欢这个小男孩。
