老师您好，请问 and encourage and support 为什么要两个and，我理解第一个and可以省略吧。另外，respect，enlist,encourage,support是and连接的主句的并列谓语动词，对吗？

encourage 和 support 都是及物动词，共用一个宾语。前面用and, 则二个动词共用宾语就很清楚。如果没有encourage前的and, 四个谓语动词句式为：A，B，C and D. 读者会意为C （即encourage）是不及物动词，没有宾语。有了这个and, 谓语动词为 A，B，and C and D, 读者就会把C和D结合起来理解，即二者共用一个宾语。
