——不可以。rather than 是“对等排除”；other than 是“范围排除”。这是它们最显著的区别。比较：
Tom rather than John can help her. 是汤姆而不是约翰能帮助她。（不是John，而是Tom）
Everyone other than John can help her. 除了约翰，其他所有人都能帮助她。（唯独约翰不能帮她）
Nobody other than John can help her. 除了约翰，没有人能帮助她。（只有约翰能帮她）
所谓“对等排除和范围排除”，我打个比方：在26个字母中，对等排除的意思是：不是A，就是B。范围排除的意思是：除了A，其他25个都是；或者除了A，其他25个都不是。
