关于让步状语从句的倒装的疑惑

Be she rich or poor, l will take her as my wife.

请问下各位大佬，为什么是不是 was she rich or poor?

从句部分陈述语句可以说 whether she is rich or poor 吗?

Be she rich or poor, I will take her as my wife.

这里不能用 was she rich or poor，但可说成 whether she is rich or poor。这是一种比较正式的让步从句。又如：

Be the problem easy or difficulty this method applies.

=Whether the problem is easy or difficulty this method applies.

不管问题是容易还是困难，这个方法都是适用的。

如果这类句式的表语是单数可数名词，其前的不定冠词通常省略。如：

Be he friend or enemy, he will be punished.

=Whether he is a friend or an enemy, he will be punished.

不管是朋友还是敌人，他都必须受到惩罚。
