之前初中题I don't know what He is.是说我不知道他的职业吗？在上面的这个句子可以用who I was吗？

I'm much more confident behind the wheel than what I was when I started.
这句话，what I was 用得 “无厘头”，不但如此，反而让人看不懂。直接删去即可：
I'm much more confident behind the wheel than when I started. （最简练的表达，than 之后参与比较的 I was 直接删除，因为有when I started 就足够了。）
或者删去what，保留 I was，与现在 I am 相比较：
I'm much more confident behind the wheel than I was when I started.
这句话的意思是说：我现在开车比我刚开始的时候自信多了。
behind the wheel 是习语。引申为“开车；驾车”。
