go to the movie还是go to the moives（单数还是复数）

去看电影学的是go to the movies, movie要用复数形式，可是发现人教七下P50出现这样一个句子：

Are you going to the movie tonight?

所以不加s也是对的吗，如果考试做填空或翻译句子这种小题的话，用go to the movie也对吗？

如果笼统地表示“去看电影”，要用复数，即用 go to the movies。如果是指去看某部电影，可以用单数，如用 go the movie。比较：

In those days, we went to the movies every week. 那时候，我们每周都去看电影。

I don't want go to the movie, because I hear it is not interesting. 我不想去看这部电影，因为我听说没有趣。
