A major source of the problem is the increase in carbon dioxide levels but ,other gases, such as,sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide,have also contributed.

an age of 为一个...的时代，即如此多的工业导致污染的时代。动名词复合结构作of的宾语。

has never produced是过去的动作，causing与produced二个动作之间没有同时性，排除现在分词。

currently being experinced显然是pollution的后置定语。动名词不可以做后置定语。causing的宾语是名词pollution，而不是动名词复合结构。即导致的是污染，而不是导致污染被感受。
