After the arrests governor Whitmer called out president Donald Trump for stoking distrust and fomenting anger.

Trump responded by tweeting he does not tolerate extreme violence, and that governor Whitmer has done a terrible job.

特朗普总统在推特上使用了does not, 一般现在时，是否表明特朗普总统对极端暴力总是一直不能容忍？

如果他使用了did not，则不能表明始终如一的一直之意？

这类似于 He said he doesn't have breakfast. 主句谓语为过去时，从句谓语用一般现在时表示现在仍然有效的习惯或状态。这实际上违反了时态一致的原则，但在非正式语体，这种用法是很常见的。
