no one和nothing为不定代词，前者指人，后者指事物，二者都不可以被of 介词短语修饰。

none= not one, 既可以指人，也可以指事物。通常后接of介词短语，表示在某个范围内，没有一个人或事物。即使none没有后接of介词短语，也隐含一个有限的范围。所以，none不可以随意与no one或nothing互换。
