5 关于The way引导的究竟是定语从句还是方式状语从句的问题？
Confidence is probably one of the most noticeable traits in the Americans. They show confidence in the way they talk, the way they smile, the way they dress and the way they walk.
我个人理解:当the way在主句和从句中同时都是做状语时，是无法区分这个由the way引导的从句究竟是属于定语从句还是方式状语从句的，上面这个in the way去掉介词in也是成立的。有in偏向于理解为定语从句，而没有in的话偏向理解为方式状语从句。我不知道这样的理解是否正确？？请指教！

in the way they talk中，they talk为定语从句修饰way, 整体是一个介词短语作方式状语。
the way+从句，也可以作方式状语，为非正式用法。the way=like。此时the way被重新分析为连词，引导方式状语从句。较为正式的用词为just as. 例如：
They replace their cars the way other people replace shoes. 非正式
They replace their cars like other people replace shoes. 非正式
They replace their cars just as other people replace shoes. 正式
