    【答】当主句中谓语动词表示现在或将来概念时，即为现在时、现在完成时或将来时时，宾语从句可根据需要用各种时态。如：

      Mr. Smith tells us / Mr. Smith has told us / Mr. Smith will tell us  that he works in the steel plant. 史密斯先生告诉我们他在钢厂工作。

      Mr. Smith tells us / Mr. Smith has told us / Mr. Smith will tell us  that he is

 working in the steel plant. 史密斯先生告诉我们他目前在钢厂工作。

       Mr. Smith tells us / Mr. Smith has told us / Mr. Smith will tell us  that he has

worked in the steel plant since 1985. 史密斯先生告诉我们自从1985年他一直在钢厂工作。

       Mr. Smith tells us / Mr. Smith has told us / Mr. Smith will tell us  that he 

worked in the steel plant last year. 史密斯先生告诉我们去年他在钢厂工作。

        Mr. Smith tells us / Mr. Smith has told us / Mr. Smith will tell us  that he was

working in the steel plant when we got acquainted with him. 史密斯先生告诉我们我们认识他时，他在钢厂工作。

        Mr. Smith tells us / Mr. Smith has told us / Mr. Smith will tell us  that he had worked in the steel plant for five years when we first met him. 史密斯先生告诉我们我们第一次遇见他时，他已在钢厂工作了5年。
