1 完型填空中冠词和不定代词的疑问

The rocks are the important things---your family, your health, and your children. The pebbles are the other things like your job, your house and your cars. The sand is _____ , the small stuff.

这是网上能搜到的一个完型类试题，我有两个疑问：

1，第二句中other前的the有必要吗？

2，横线处原文答案是everything else, 能用anything else吗？为什么？

The rocks are the important things---your family, your health, and your children. The pebbles are the other things like your job, your house and your cars. The sand is everything else, the small stuff.

这段话，都是些比喻句。

把那些 rocks 比喻为“你的家庭、健康和子女”，是重要的东西。

把那些 pebbles 比喻为“你的工作、房子和汽车”，是次要的东西。

把那些 sand 比喻为除上述之外的所有一切，是无足轻重的小东西。

other things 不是特指的，the other things 才是特指的，即后面列举的三样东西。跟 the important things 有 the，是一个道理，需要特指。

everything else，是“肯定词”，意为包括上述六种事物之外的所有一切。

anything else，是“非肯定词”，仅用于否定句或疑问句。不用于肯定句，如果用于肯定句，也是非肯定意义，即表示可能性，不曾实现。例如：

Besides this, he could do anything else for her. （正）

（含有 could，仅是一种可能或能力）

Besides this, he did anything else for her. （误）

Besides this, he could do everything else for her. （正）

Besides this, he didi everything else for her. （正）

有没有the，都可以，但会出现两种角度。

1）有the

作者在A类事物中放入了a (family, health, children)和b (job, house , cars)，可以看到a与b都是“大事物”，用the other things代表b，即A-a=b

2）没有the

所有事物中放入了a (family, health, children)，b (job, house, cars)，和c（small stuff），没有把a, b归属为一个大类
