我后来在网上搜索看到,有说持续性动词用intend doing,而短暂性的动词用intend to do,这是错误的吗,并不需要区分吗?
【答】intend to do 和intend doing 可以互换,只是前者更常用而已,与 intend 后面的动词是持续性动词还是短暂性的动词无关。如:
What do you intend doing [or to do] ? 你打算做什么?(摘自《英汉多功能词典》新编升级版p.880)
I intend coming [to come] back soon. 我想很快就回去。(摘自赵振才《英语常见问题解答大词典》增订版第五版p.717)
intend 后接动词不定式或动名词,在意思上没有明显差别,只是动词不定式比动名词常见些。
I intend to continue it and see the job through to the finish.
