现在回到网友的问题。

国内语法书在讲解动名词用法时，提到动名词主动形式表示被动意义。即动词 need, want, require, deserve, be worth while 后接动名词doing形式时，动名词主动形式表示的是被动意义。

但《剑桥英语语法》认为，只有need, want, require 和 deserve后接的动名词是被动意义，称这种动名词为隐匿被动（concealed passive)。即此时的doing=being done. 由于动名词在意义上是被动的，所以不可以用属格表示出动名词的施动者。The room needs your cleaning. 为错误。因为your cleaning 在意义上为 your being cleaned. 为逻辑错误。

be worth while doing 中的doing并不是被动意义，而是主动意义，只不过该动名词为悬空结构，其宾语缺失。所以动名词可用复合结构，即用属格形式表示出动名词的施动者。例如：

It is worthwhile our pursuing this plan. 普通动名词作外置主语，it为形式主语。

This plan is wourthwhile our pursuing. 悬空动名词作形容词的补足语，句子的主语为动名词的逻辑宾语。

It‘s not really worth being friends with them in the first place. 普通动名词短语作外置主语。it为形式主语。

They're not really worth being friends with in the first place. 悬空动名词作介词worth的宾语，句子主语为动名词短语中介词with的逻辑宾语。

所以网友应该知道，need, want, require, deserve后接的动名词为隐匿被动结构，不是悬空不定式，所以不可以在doing前加施事者。

be worth/worhwhile doing中的动名词为悬空动名词，动名词为主动意义，所以可以前加施事者。

你混淆了隐匿被动式的动名词和悬空动名词，所以由此疑惑。
