在网上看到一个句子
Every idea we have is as it were copied from what we sense or experience.
只讨论表语从句部分,此句可省略为
Idea is as it were copied from... .
对于此句我有两种理解:
1、按常规说法,as引导表语从句时在句中作成分,那么从句的it是不是就多余了?也就是说上句是个病句,应改写为
idae is as were copied from... .
as 在从句中作被动语态的主语。
2、as只是连词,在从句中不作成分。
Idea is as it were copied from... .
从句中的it作主语,指代idea。
不知道哪种理解对,其实还是对as引导表语从句用法不太懂,麻烦各位老师、专家帮忙解答一下,万分感谢!!

你的以上理解都是不正确的。as it were是个习语,通常作为插入语用作句子中,表示说话人一时想不起一个准确的用词,而用了一个临时想出来的词,但他表示的意思是正确的。as it were 通常可以翻译为,似乎,好像,可以这么说,等。
词典(《韦氏高阶》)对此的解释如下:
as it were
— used to say that a statement is true or accurate in a certain way even if it is not literally or completely true
His retirement was, as it were [=so to speak], the beginning of his real career.
你的句子中,作者没有在as it were前后用逗号隔开,但通常是应该用逗号隔开的。
