这个问题很有意思，看似简单，其实也不好回答。查了手头的几本英英词典，均没有查到对 class teacher 的释义，但在多本英汉双解词典（原版为外国人所编）中查到过，不过其汉语翻译各不相同，比如翻译成“班主任”“课堂教师”“任课教师”等。

我在《牛津英语搭配词典》英汉双解版的另一处也查到一例（p.1577的teacher词条）：
class / classroom teacher 课堂教师
很显然，同一本词典的译者给出的翻译也不相同。
▲另外，我还在双解词查到了以下两例（翻译也各不相同）：
The class teacher called the (names on the) register. 任课教师点了名。（牛津高阶第四版）
Her class teacher made a special arrangement to discuss her progress at school once a month. 她班上的老师作了特别安排，每月讨论一次她在学业上的进展情况。（柯林斯高级英语词典）——这个翻译可能是个“误译”，什么叫“她班上的老师”？根据此句的语境还不如翻译成“班主任”好！
▲顺便一说，虽然一般词典没有收录 class teacher，但绝大部分词典都收录了 head teacher，其意为：(especially BrE) (AmE usually principal) a teacher who is in charge of a school 校长。如：
The head teacher is sticking by his decision to retire. 校长坚持自己要退休的决定。
Head teachers are more involved in administration than in teaching. 校长的行政工作比教学工作多。
The head teacher made his inevitable joke about the school food. 校长又照例拿学校的伙食开玩笑。
Students can be expelled at the discretion of the head teacher. 校长有权酌情开除学生。
He reported the boy to the head teacher for smoking on the school premises. 他向校长告发了这个男孩在校内吸烟。
A sudden hush fell over the room as the head teacher entered. 校长一进门，教室里顿时变得鸦雀无声。
