谓语动词单复数与of前面的名词单复数保持一致，因为of前面的名词才是中心名词？

比如：

apple of this kind  单数，表“一个这种苹果”

apples of this kind  复数，表“一堆这种苹果”

apples of these kind  复数，表“一堆的这几种的苹果”

请问以上理解是否正确？

     【答】several kinds of cards = cars of several kinds 数种车 (摘自《英汉多功能词典》新编升级版 p.925)  

      Cars of that kind are very expensive. （同上）（这是非正式用法，最好尽量不用。更常用的说法是： Cars of those kinds are very expensive. 或  Those kinds of cars are very expensive. ） 

an apple of this kind  单数，表“一个这种苹果”

apples of this kind  复数，表“这种苹果”

apples of these kinds  复数，表“这几种苹果”

请注意主谓语一致(sort, kind, type 可以互换)：

       This sort of car is ...

       These kinds of car(s) are ...

       Cars of that type are ...
