如果你知道will be doing除了可以是将来进行时表示将来某时刻正在发生、尚未结束的动作以外，还可以是所谓的纯粹将来，即排除will do中will表示的意愿、意志这个情态含义的。在说话人看来，事件在将来的发生是理所当然的。这种纯粹将来will be doing其实和will do含义相同，只要不把will 理解为意愿意义即可。新概念第二册中讲解的will be doing就是纯粹将来的用法，作者在课后练习中就把will do和will be doing视为同义句。
知道了这一点，就很容易理解be going to be doing, 其实就是口语体的will be doing表示纯粹将来。我们知道be going to do, 主要表示二种含义，第一，表示打算做某事；第二，表示根据目前情况预测某事会在将来发生。那么，如果不定式用了进行体，就可以排除打算这个情态意义，只表示预测意义。
